G is for Google

Did you know the original name for Google was BackRub?  That little bit of information might just make you the winner of the next Trivial Pursuit game you play.  According to their Corporate Information page, the two founders in 1997 decided that the BackRub had to go.  "After some brainstorming, they go with Google -- a play on the word "googol," a mathematical term for the number represented by the numeral 1 followed by 100 zeros. The use of the term reflects their mission to organize a seemingly infinite amount of information on the web."  Exploring everything that Google has to offer is a course in itself !
